Telstra scraps $2.20 pay-in-person charge

Date:  04 November 2009

Steve has welcomed Telstra’s decision to drop the $2.20 administration fee for payment of bills in person or by mail.

“Many of my constituents in Hindmarsh don’t use the internet – why should they have to pay extra over the counter?” he said.

‘The Federal Government is working hard to introduce more choice, more value and more protection for consumers in telecommunications and Telstra have taken a step forward in the right direction with this announcement.”

“My constituents know I’m on their side when it comes to taking on the telcos and that’s why I’m calling on Telstra’s competitors to follow suit and drop the unnecessary charges.”
